Job Summary:The Hospitalist is expected to provide clinical care for patients admitted at our affiliated hospitals, provide support to our surgical and specialty services through consultative general internal medicine practice. Schedule Opportunities for this position:Monday-Friday and every 3rd weekendBlock 7 on 7 off 22 shifts a month. Primary Functions:Responsible for the assessment, evaluation, and clinical management of patients in the acute facility. This is inclusive of performing histories and physicals, as well as, conducting physical examinations.Diagnosis and active management of patient conditions, including evaluation and treatment, inclusive of daily patient care.Attend multi-disciplinary rounds at siteOrders, conducts, and interprets diagnostic studies and laboratory testsPerforms diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including but not limited to suturing, wound care, incision and drainage and splintingPrescribes or recommends pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, including controlled medicationsConsults appropriate physician(s) for patient care needsRefers patients to appropriate sources of care as requiredAssures the efficient utilization of resources while supporting clinical pathway implementation and complianceAssures appropriate and timely referrals to a tertiary care facility as indicated by the patient care needs in consultation with the primary care physician or attending physicianEducation, Training, Experience:Doctorate degree in medicine (MD or DO).Completion of advanced graduate medical education in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible (IM or FP)Active FL medical license in good standingDEA license eligible/activeKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Effective written, verbal, and electronic communication skillsShow initiative, creativity, and problem-solving abilityAbility to collaborate with colleagues to provide quality healthcareAbility to work under pressureComputer literacy Additional Qualifications:Prior experience using an electronic medical records system (EPIC)Bilingual a plus, but not required Relationship Reporting:Reports to the Chief Medical Officer / Executive Director Physical Requirements:Communicate effectively with patients and staffBe able to sit, stand or view a computer screen for extended periods of timePerform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of timeBe able to use hand and fingers to handle or feelBe able to reach with hands and arms Job Status: Full-timeBenefits:Competitive CompCMEMalpractice and Tail covered15 days PTOMedical, Dental, Vision and 401K PId4fb7a271709-25660-37450887
